Joe Strauss, who covered the Cardinals since 2002 and then became a columnist in 2012 for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, died Sunday from complications with Leukemia. He covered baseball for three decades in Baltimore and Atlanta, covering the Braves during their dominant run in the 90’s and he was there when Cal Ripkens iron man streak of consecutive starts ended. Strauss well respected among his colleagues and the coaches and teams he covered. He was 54.
