December 18, 2015 By Alisa Nelson

“Senator Rubio is very excited to come to Joplin, Missouri. He’s visited a lot of different states. He’s looking forward to a great crowd,” said Jones.

The first term Florida Senator is up against 13 other Republicans vying for the nomination. The 44-year-old was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2011.

“Senator Rubio will talk about the future of our country, why it’s important that we have good, strong leadership in the White House and why Senator Rubio would make a good President,” said Jones.

Rubio will speak at the Millennium Tennis & Fitness Club from 4:30-5:30 p.m. The public is invited. Several hundred people are expected to attend.

Rubio attended Tarkio College in Tarkio, Missouri, for a year on a football scholarship.
