Rockhurst and Central Missouri volleyball finish near the top in final national rankings

The Rockhurst University volleyball team finished the 2015 season ranked fifth in the final American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division II Coaches Top 25 Poll.  This marks the highest-ever NCAA season-ending national ranking for the Hawks in volleyball. Their highest previous final ranking was 11th in 1999.

The Hawks finished the season with a 34-4 record. Rockhurst captured its first-ever NCAA regional title with a 3-2 win at Ferris State on December 5 and advanced to the national championships in Tampa, Florida before falling to Western Washington, 3-1, in the national quarterfinals on December 10.

Central Missouri Jennies volleyball finished the 2015 season with a 30-5 record and finished the season at No. 11.

Their inclusion in the poll extends the Jennies streak to 384 straight polls UCM has been ranked in the top-25, which happens to be each since the poll’s inception in 1986.

The Jennies’ 30 wins this season are their most since 2013 when they won 33. They have now won at least 30 games in five of the last seven seasons.
