This weekend’s seven games feature some interesting matchups with long time rivalries hooking up again, some newcomers, a few familiar faces back on the sidelines in St. Louis and one team hoping to get over the hump.  The journey that started with practices over a mild summer in August has made its way to the dome for the high school football championships for the 14 remaining teams in Missouri.

Valle Catholic in Class 1 and Webb City in Class 4 are vying for their 14th state championships.  Each have won the last five years and are facing opponents who beat them in the finals in 2009.  Valley Catholic will face Penney and Webb City will take on Kearney.

John Burroughs has been to the finals in every year except one since 2010 and they have been unable to get over the hump.  Will this year be the Bombers’ season to come out on top?

In Class 2, Lamar is going for their fifth straight championship, but will face a tough newcomer in Malden.

When it comes to 8-man football, there are two teams that have built a dynasty.  Kicking off the Show Me Bowl on Friday morning at 9:30 will be longtime rivals Stanberry and North Andrew.  This is their fifth straight championship showdown.

Jason West joins me to preview and offer fans tips for this weekend’s Show Me Bowl.
