Gary Pinkel ranked this victory over BYU as one of his best of all-time.

Missouri head football coach Gary Pinkel wasn’t sure how his team would play after he had to drop the bomb on them Friday afternoon at 2:30, just 28 hours from kickoff against BYU, that he was resigning.

“My players and my coaches have got to know before anyone else knows,” said Pinkel, after he found out word was leaking that he was going to step aside after the season.

“One of the most emotional 15 minutes of my life…now throw that on top of everything else…those kids are awesome,” said Pinkel of the way his players responded to the news.
