Reggie Bush was unable to slow down on the concrete, injuring his ACL

After injuries to Cleveland Browns quarterback Josh McCown and San Francisco 49ers running back Reggie Bush, the NFL has had to put a new policy in place to cover up the concrete behind the benches before their next home game against the Chicago Bears.  Why it has taken this long to figure that out is a head scratcher?

NFL policy now requires “every horizontal surface within the stadium that a player may reasonably expect to contact during a game should be non-slip when contacted by a cleated shoe.”

So, the city of St. Louis, or dome officials or even Rams officials didn’t have the common sense to think that perhaps this could have become an issue at some point?

They didn’t think to cover up the concrete, but as you can see from the picture, let’s throw a rug over a couple of wires so a cheerleader, or ball boy, or some passerby doesn’t trip on a power cord.

These are the things that drive me crazy.
