Rams Running back Todd Gurley was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month, and punter Johnny Hekker was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Month.

Gurley is the first running back in franchise history to receive NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month honors.

In his first start on Oct. 4 against the Cardinals in a 24-22 victory, he has 146 yards on 19 attempts.  Gurley rushed 30 times for 159 yards against Green Bay and last Sunday scored his first two touchdowns against Cleveland getting 19 carries for 128 yards, and four receptions for 35 yards.

Gurley has rushed for 433 yards and two touchdowns in his three October games, averaging 6.37 yards per carry.

Hekker becomes only the second punter in franchise history to receive the honor. Hekker averaged 48.3 yards on his 16 punts in October, including three punts inside the 20-yard line against the Browns on Sunday. He also had punts of 56 and 57 yards over the course of the month.
