When high school football moved to district play a few years ago, many people were grumpy to the idea. I questioned the reasoning behind it as well. What was the reason of having a regular season if everyone made the playoffs? Yet the move lined up football with other MSHSAA sports and if you’re a top seeded team you should be able to advance through the first couple of rounds anyway.
For the most part that has been the case, until this weekend when Jason West, Communications Director of MSHSAA, tells us that this is the first year a number one seed has been knocked out of the first round of districts.
We recap an exciting softball weekend and MSHSAA prepares for hearings this week at the Capitol.
