Last year John Burroughs lost the Class 1 finals to Pembroke Hill. This season, Burroughs got past P.H. in the semifinals by winning 5-4, Thursday morning at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield. MICDS took their 17-1 record into the finals after getting past Bolivar 5-1. In the finals, John Burroughs added MICDS their second loss of the season winning the team title by a 5-3 final.
In Class 2, Rock Bridge finished off their remarkable season at 24-1, defeating Notre Dame di Sion, 5-0. Rock Bridge went through the entire state bracket without losing a match, pulling off 5-0 wins over Parkway Central, Marquette, and Springfield-Kickapoo to get to the finals.
