A student group at the University of Missouri in Columbia plans to stage a flag burning today, but it won’t be a U.S. flag. MU-Young Americans for Liberty plans to burn an ISIS flag to cap off a demonstration against human rights violations by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

Organizer Ian Paris says the event is making more people aware of who ISIS is and what they stand for.

“It’s based on the idea that ISIS has violated the liberties of countless humans – Christians, Jews, and Muslims alike, in the Middle East,” said Paris.

The event at 4 p.m. will include a moment of silence for those killed by ISIS followed by speeches, and then the flag burning.
