Maty Mauk’s suspension opens the door for Drew Lock
University of Missouri Head Football Coach Gary Pinkel has suspended junior quarterback Maty Mauk and junior offensive lineman Malik Cuellar for disciplinary reasons related to violation of team policies.
Neither student-athlete will be available for Saturday’s game against South Carolina, and their status going forward will be evaluated after the game.
It is the policy of Mizzou Athletics that there will be no further comment on the situation.
This opens the door for Drew Lock. Many Mizzou fans have been vocal in wanting to see the true freshman from Lee’s Summit get more opportunities.
Mauk’s play has been questionable at times and now Lock can seize this chance.
