This fans simply sums it up for the Royals.

Royals fans got a taste of the madness last season when the club clinched a Wild Card spot and made its magical run through postseason.  With the tying run 90-feet away, the dream season ended, but at the same time, the stakes were raised as this organization tinkered and fine tuned their roster to make a run for the World Series in 2015.

The first goal was to eliminate that one game Wild Card playoff and the Royals did exactly that on Thursday night, by clinching the American League Central Division with a 10-4 win over Seattle.  That followed a Minnesota loss earlier in the evening, which brought the magic number down to one.

If was as if the players saw the light at the end of the tunnel once the Twins score was flashed up on the scoredboard.  The Royals exploded for seven runs over the final three innings to leave no doubt, Thursday night would be the clinching night with ten games left on the regular season schedule.

The Royals were sure to thank the fans for their support.

“You guys have been fantastic all year long, you’re right there with us every pitch, we can’t do it without you, thank you so much!” said manager Ned Yost to the Kauffman Stadium crowd.

The Royals will enjoy this moment, but its time to focus on the next goal and that’s gaining home field advantage throughout the playoffs.  In order to do that, the club must hold onto their two-game lead over Toronto.  The Royals new magic number is nine.  Any combination of wins and Toronto losses to clinch that home field advantage

“We had a nasty taste, game 7 and we came up short at home…had our feelings hurt,” said Jarrod Dyson on the World Series.  “But this year we’re looking forward to hurting someone else’s feelings.”
