After the Tigers went three and out, on their second possession, a 51-yard punt from Corey Fatony pushed the UConn Huskies back to their own two.   A three and out forced a punt from their endzone.

Clarence Green blocked Justin Wain’s punt out the back of the endzone for a safety with 7:44 to play in the first quarter for a 2-0 lead. Who is Clarence Green for Mizzou? The RS-SR linerbacker from Clute, TX., in 14 games last year, tallying 18 tackles (six solo, 12 assists), including seven tackles vs Georgia.

On the second play from scrimmage following the free kick, the offensive line gave Maty Mauk plenty of time but his pass was telegraphed to Sean Culkin and was picked off by UConn Jhavon Williams and returned 17 yards to the Tigers 35.

On the Huskies next possession, UConn QB Bryan Shirreffs hit Noel Thomas for 18-yards to the Mizzou seven. Two plays later, Ron Johnson scored.  Mizzou blocked the extra point with 4:14 to play.

UConn–6
Mizzou–2
