Arkansas State moved the ball on their first two possessions as Fredi Knighton started 4-for-8 for 40 yards and their star running back Michael Gordon had one run for 19 yards. In each of the first two drives, the Redwolves were stopped by the Missouri defense never getting closer than the Tigers’ 40.

On Mizzou’s opening driving , Maty Mauk had completions of 19 and 16 yards to J’Mon Moore and Nate Brown, but Brown dropped a touchdown pass leading to a 30 yard field goal from Andrew Baggett.

A third drive by Arkansas State stalled at midfield after a holding penalty.  Mizzou will get the ball to start the second quarter.

Russell Hansbrough and Evan Boehm started the game after suffering ankle injuries. Hansbrough has two carries for eight yards.

Mizzou–3
Ark State–0
