Drew Lock was all smiles following Mizzou’s win over SEMO

With the game well in hand, freshman quarterback Drew Lock came into the game with 7:04 to play and the ball at his own eight yard line.  After a completion to Emanuel Hall and a drop by Hall, Lock threw his third pass of the series on a 2nd 6 from his own 22.

SEMO lost track of running back Tyler Hunt and Lock found him wide open down field.  Hunt won a foot race to the endzone giving Lock his first career touchdown.  The play went for 78 yards and brought to close a great opening game for the backup to Maty Mauk.

Lock finished 6-of-10 for 138 yards and one TD.

Mauk went 12-for-22 for 181 and two scores, plus an interception. Mauk also had a drop in the endzone by Nate Brown that was a sure score. Then two plays later, TE Sean Culkin caught a touchdown pass but was ruled to have gone out of bounds and then re-entered the play.

The defense held SEMO to 197 total yards, limiting quarterback Tay Bender to just 59 yards passing.

Linebacker Kentrell Brothers set a career high with 16 tackles.
