Brandon Moss homered in his first at-bat on Wednesday night, following his game winning homer on Tuesday.  His 454 foot blast deep into right field was the longest home run hit by a left handed hitter at Busch Stadium III.  That early lead did not hold up as the Cardinals played catch-up the rest of the night and lost 4-3.

Ryan Zimmerman went deep twice and doubled in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning as Washington ended a nine-game losing streak to the Cardinals.  Jason Werth also homered for the Nationals.

Former Missouri Tiger and St. Louis area native Max Scherzer started for Washington and struck out 11, and gave up 11 hits and left with a 3-2 lead after the sixth. He got a no-decision.

Mike Matheny elected to give 15-game winner Michael Wacha a night off.  Tyler Lyons, called up from Memphis, gave up three runs in six innings and struck out six in the first three innings.
