Mizzou starting quarterback Maty Mauk felt like the offense wasn’t as sharp as they should be for a final scrimmage of fall camp. While limited to just 20 plays, he knows every rep has to count, saying he felt “some guys didn’t have their heads right.” Mauk went 6-for-12 for 51 yards in limited action.
The defense finally came up with their first interceptions of the fall as each of the three backup QB were victims.
Safety Anthony Sherrils returned an early pick 22 yards, cornerback Tavon Ross gained 26 yards on his return. Linebacker Terez Hall recorded the final turnover when he pulled down a tipped pass.
Quarterback Drew Lock was a victim of one of those picks, but continued to look impressive, running mostly against the number one defense. Lock went 9-for-12 passing for 177 yards, including a 56-yard hookup to WR Ray Wingo. He has the composure in the pocket, no doubt, but at times needs to make better decisions, which is expected from a true freshman.
