Two runners out at home, but Royals still manage wild ninth inning rally to beat Boston (VIDEO)

August 24, 2015 By Bill Pollock

Mike Moustakas’ two-run double highlighted a crazy four-run ninth inning rally giving the Royals an improbable 8-6 comeback victory over the Boston Red Sox on Sunday.

The Royals could have had more runs.  The Royals had two runners cut down at the plate.  Boston left fielder Jackie Bradley Jr. threw out Omar Infante trying for an inside the park home run for the first out.  Then the Royals rallied with four hits, tying it on Eric Hosmer’s two-run single. K.C. had six hits against Boston closer Junichi Tazawa.

Moustakas capped off a 10-pitch at-bat with his go-ahead hit into the right-center field gap on Tazawa’s 30th pitch of the inning.  Kendrys Morales was thrown out at home to end the inning.
