New Missouri defensive coordinator Barry Odom spoke after the Tigers’ second practice of fall camp as they wrapped up mid-morning in Columbia.  He said it would have been naive of him to think that his defensive roster wouldn’t experience some changes, good or bad before the season started.

When Odom came over from Memphis, where he improved that Tigers’ defense every year he was there, he knew he would have to replace stars Shane Ray and Markus Golden on the defensive.  He also figured to have the services of the up and coming Marcus Loud and the promising Harold Brantley.

Loud was then dismissed from the team and Brantley suffered season ending injuries in a traffic accident.

Now Odom has to work with a revamped defensive line, and says he’s always looking at ways to make all the pieces fit.

Brantley is still an important part to this team in terms of his presence in the film room and just being around the guys.
