“I don’t know. Go ask him,” is all manager Ned Yost could say, when ask why Eric Hosmer continues to terrorize the Cleveland Indians.  The Royals first baseman had three more hits, including his solo shot in the ninth inning to give the Royals a 2-1 victory Tuesday night at Progressive Field.  Hosmer has more RBIs against Cleveland pitching than any other player in baseball.  He’s batting .422 against the Tribe (19-for-45) with five homers and 19 driven in.

Hosmer drove in both runs.  The first came in the fourth inning when he singled home Lorenzo Cain, who tripled with two outs off Cleveland starter Trevor Bauer, who pitched a complete game.  Bauer’s ERA was close to seven in his last six starts, but he did his best to hold the Royals to one run on four hits for 8.2 innings, until Hosmer got hold of a 3-2 curveball.

With the win, the Royals 23 games over .500 for the first time since 1989.
