The St. Louis Cardinals placed pitcher Lance Lynn on the 15-day disabled list Friday with a right forearm strain.

The move is retroactive to June 8 and the team also recalled lefty Tyler Lyons from Triple-A Memphis. He will start Saturday’s matchup against Kansas City.

Lynn left Sunday’s start against the Dodgers after five innings due to tightness in his forearm.

On the season, he is 4-4 with a 3.07 earned run average over 12 starts.

Lyons started three games in May for St. Louis and didn’t record a decision. He allowed 10 runs — eight earned — over 13 innings while striking out 17.
