The Cleveland Indians sent eight batters to the plate during a four-run third inning, and Brandon Moss added his second homer of the series with nobody out in the fifth.  36-year old starter Chris Young was tagged for all six runs in the Royals 6-2 loss in a game that wrapped up after eight innings.

Young, who moved from the bullpen to the rotation, saw his ERA jump from 0.78 after a six-inning shutout performance against the Cardinals on May 22, to 2.56 following his second loss in a row.

“You play a team that’s hot and locked in the way some of their hitters are,” Young said, “they are going to foul off pitches that maybe they would swing and miss, or they’re going to get hits.”

Young was named the Comeback Pitcher of the Year last season with Seattle.  The Royals are going to need Young to comeback from his funk.  Prior to his last two starts, he had gone 34.2 innings while allowing one home run.  In the last 11 innings, he’s been taken deep three times.
