Shin-Soo Choo hit a leadoff home run for the second straight game and Prince Fielder homered off Royals starter Yordano Ventura as Texas starter Yovani Gallardo won for the first time in five starts in a 5-2  Rangers win over the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday night.

This is the fourth time Ventura has given up four or more runs and has not filled out that role as team’s ace.  His ERA is 5.36 this season.

”I understand that those were a couple of mistakes that I made early,” Ventura said. ”I’m going to continue to work hard, grind it out and see if I can continue to get better.”
