Spring softball

I learned a few things on today’s MSHSAA chat with Jason West.  The week starts with boys golf sectionals and spring softball sectionals.  This is the second year that MSHSAA is offering a state championship for softball in the spring.  Over 100 schools participate and the season was added to help those schools who didn’t have enough players field a team in the fall.

Here’s the bracket for spring softball.

In boys’ golf, each of the four classes has four sectionals

Aberdeen Golf Club, Kinderhook, Fox Haven, Wolf Hollow, Hoots Hollow, Cape Girardeau Country Club, Kirksville, Country Club, Bill and Payne Stewart Golf Course, Blues Springs Country Club, Dalhousie Golf Club, Schifferdecker Golf, LA Nickell and Shirkey Golf Course are the sites for this year’s sectionals.

Boys tennis begins districts this week and Jason explains how girls are helping supplement boys teams.

Plus, Jason tells us about this past weekend’s Scholar Bowl, which included an upset in Class 2.
