Joey Votto homered off John Lackey in each of his first two at-bats and a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning pushed Reds past the Cardinals with a 5-4 on Friday night.

Jason Marquis, who made his first start since July of 2013, pitched five innings and left with a 4-3 lead, but the Cardinals tied it with three singles in the seventh, and Jason Heyward’s hit up the middle tying it at 4.

Todd Frazier’s sacrifice fly in the eighth off Jordan Walden (0-1) drove in Billy Hamilton giving the Reds their fourth win in a row on their last at-bats of the game.

Randal Grichuk homered off Marquis in the second inning.
