The Mizzou women lost to Michigan 65-55 in the third round of the WNIT, finishing up the season at 19-14. The Tigers led by five at the half, and in the second found themselves down three when the Wolverines went on a 13-2 run. The 19 wins are the most for the program since ’05-’06.

Junior Maddie Stock hit a huge three-pointer just as the halftime buzzer sounded, giving Mizzou a 33-28 lead over Michigan, but with the Tigers down three in the second half, the Wolverines went on a 13-2 run to put the game away. The Tigers were held to just eight, second half field goals as Stock led the Tigers overall, putting up 13 points. Frericks added another 12 points for the Tigers.

It is nice to see Robin Pingeton moving the team in right direction and things should continue to improve next year as they add Sophie Cunningham and Cierra Porter from Rock Bridge, who just completed a four-peat championship run in Class 5.
