University of Missouri Chancellor R. Bowen Loftin announced today, during an informal media session, that newly hired athletic director Mack Rhoades will officially start no later than April 27th.  Mike Alden will remain inside the athletic department until the end of August.

We are fortunate enough to have our Missourinet sports contributor Tim Fisher join us from his hometown in Houston.  He’s had the opportunity to follow Rhoades for part of his time as A.D. at Houston and has watched Rhoades resurrect an athletic department that now boasts a brand new football facility, the hottest head football coach hiring and a coup to land a once top college basketball coach away from the NBA.

Watch our Google Hangout as I talk with Tim about the positives to the Rhoades hiring.
