Alex Gordon takes first live BP with no setbacks. Could see live game action by next Tuesday (AUDIO)

Alex Gordon was happy with his first batting practice session.

For the first time since wrist surgery, Royals left fielder Alex Gordon faced live pitching. He went through four rounds of live batting practice from minor league pitchers.  Gordon will continue to take BP and barring any unforeseen setbacks, he should start playing in Minor League intrasquad games as soon as next Tuesday.

This first time out Gordon was just concerned with tracking pitches coming off a mound and then getting swings in to see how his wrist reacted.  He checked his swing on one pitch and felt no pain.  That was a major concern coming into the session, but so far so good.

“It usually takes me awhile to get my timing down in spring anyway, so I knew it would be a slow process. I thought I had a couple of good swings,” said Gordon.
