State power houses and newcomers round out the Final Four in Classes 1-3 for the 2015 MSHSAA Show Me Showdown (Google Hangout)

March 9, 2015 By Bill Pollock

The Final Four is set for Classes 1-3 on the boys and girls side as the high school basketball brackets shift to Columbia, Missouri this week.  Semifinals get underway this Thursday at noon at Hearnes Center and Mizzou  Arena.  12 games are available on Thursday.  If you are a big fan of high school sports, the $8 ticket will get you access to all games that day.

In Girls Class 3, a new set of Final Four teams from a year with Boonville leading the way at 30-0.  In Class 2, Crane and Skyline are hoping for a rematch of last year’s final, which Crane won 67-52.  Walnut Grove is going for a three-peat in Class 1.

The Class 3 Boys Final Four, features three teams who make a return trip:  College Prep, Strafford and Barstow.  Not only with Crane girls be playing, but so will the boys in Class 2.  Canton returns after finishing in third last season.  Scott County, moved up to Class 2 this season, won the championship in Class 1 last season.  A title this year would give that school it’s 18th state championship in boys basketball.  Meadville, the Class 1 runner up, puts their 30-0 record on the line with some tough competition.

Here to join us from MSHSAA is Jason West, who will help us recap the weekend, plus look ahead at the matchups.  Jason will also give you some tips if you’re planning on coming to Columbia this weekend.  Watch our Google Hangout below.
