Northwest Missouri held Washburn to .350 shooting from the field in a 71-61 victory in the quarterfinal round of the MIAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

For the Bearcats Justin Pitts led the way scoring a game high 25 points while Zach Schneider added 15 points. Grant Cozad and Matt Wallace each finished with 12 points. On the glass Cozad led with seven boards while Wallace and Conner Crooker each added six rebounds.

For the Ichabods Algie Key led the way scoring 16 points on the afternoon. Christian Ulsaker added 11 points and Kevin House finished with 10 points and four assists. On the glass Alex North led the way with seven rebounds, six of which came on the defensive end.

Fifth seeded Pittsburg State used .519 shooting to knock of fourth seeded Lindenwood 74-55 in the quarterfinal round of the MIAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

For the Gorillas Devon Branch led the way scoring 15 points while Dakota Jones and Trevor Gregory each had 13 points. Lamine Deing added 11 points on the afternoon and Javis Flynn had six rebounds and five assists. On the glass Josiah Gustafson led the way pulling down a team best eight rebounds.

For the Lions Cory Arentsen led the way with a double-double scoring 20 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Chanse Creekmur was also in double figures scoring 10 points on the afternoon. Darris Smith led the way for the team by dishing out five assists.

Pittsburg State will face #1 Northwest Missouri at 12 noon on March 7 from Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City.
