March Madness begins as the calendar turns. Boys and Girls Class 1 basketball brackets are set. Classes 2 and 3 wrap up tonight (Google Hangout)

March 2, 2015 By Bill Pollock

Weather forced six district finals in Class 2 and four district finals in Class 3 to be rescheduled for this week after weather forced the cancellations of the championships on Saturday.  Mother Nature should cooperate and Jason West, Communications Director with MSHSSA says that will help as districts begin for Classes 4 and 5.  That will alleviate pressure on finding enough officials to cover all the classes.

Plus, today marks the start of spring sport practices.  If student-athletes did not play a winter sport, they are required to get in 14 practices before being eligible to play in a game.  Also, Jason talks with us about the importance of raising concussion awareness, especially for those parents and athletes who haven’t played in a sport yet this school year.

Check out this week’s video and the Class 1 brackets below.
