
Damian Jones tallied 16 points and seven rebounds as the Vanderbilt Commodores coasted to a 76-53 victory over the Missouri Tigers in an SEC tilt at Memorial Gym.
Wade Baldwin IV contributed 13 points for Vanderbilt (15-12, 5-9 SEC), while Riley LaChance, Matthew Fisher-Davis and Luke Kornet scored 11 points apiece. LaChance also racked up nine boards and five assists. James Siakam paced the Commodores on the glass with a game-high 13 boards.
Montaque Gill-Caesar led Missouri (7-20, 1-13) with 11 points and Keith Shamburger finished with nine points and eight assists. The loss was the 13th in a row for the Tigers.
The Commodores never trailed in the first half and led by as many as 14 before going into halftime on top, 37-29. Vanderbilt knocked down 48.4 percent of its field goal tries, including a 5-of-11 clip from 3-point range in the opening period. Both sides committed two turnovers each in the first stanza.
Vanderbilt controlled the second stanza by limited the visitors to 36 percent efficiency from the floor. The Tigers were outrebounded, 27-9, over the final 20 minutes of regulation
The Commodores dominated on the interior as they finished with a 46-26 edge in total rebounds and outscored Missouri, 18-8, in second chance points.
