The Missouri Tigers shot 50% from the floor for the night, hitting 26 of 52 shots. They made their fair share of free throws, going 11 of 15 from the line. Those two stat lines have been trouble spots for Mizzou all season.
However, the pressure from Arkansas’ defense on their home court was too much, as the Tigers turned the ball over 20 times, in an 84-69 loss on Wednesday night.
The loss was the Tigers’ 12th straight, tying a program record. Missouri head coach Kim Anderson pointed to the Hogs’ defense.
“When they get their press going and the crowd going, certainly they’re a good team, but they’re even better. Tonight, they rattled us.”
Jonathan Williams and Tramaine Isabell, back after a five-game suspension, had 13 points each to lead Missouri. Montaque Gill-Caesar and Jakeenan Gant each scored in double figures with 11 points each.
In addition to turnovers, we all know the Tigers other big issue…no big man presence. Michael Qualls had 21 points with a few highlight reel dunks and Bobby Portis led Arkansas with nine rebounds, including four on the offensive end. The Razorbacks had 12 offensive rebounds overall, leading to 22 second-chance points.
