Mark Scanlon celebrated his 600th Missouri High School coaching win this past Friday in a 55-45 win as O’Hara beat Nevada. The 59 year old Scanlon started coaching right out of college that covered one year at Bunceton, three years at Bucklin, four at Mexico, 22 seasons at Raytown and one at Northeast High School. He’s now in his fifth season with O’Hara.

Scanlon is a graduate of Northwest Missouri State University and holds a Masters Degree in Physical Education from Ottawa University.

Under Scanlon’s tutelage, his teams have won numerous Conference, District and Sectional titles. He is a member of the Missouri Basketball Hall of Fame, a recipient of the Lambert Award and the Eddie Ryan Award and has been named Metro basketball coach of the year.

Archbishop O’Hara High School is a college-prep, co-ed Catholic school located in southeast Kansas City.
