Brian Schottenheimer is leaving St. Louis for Georgia in the SEC.
The Rams are looking for a new offensive coordinator…again. Brian Schottenheimer who called the offensive plays for three seasons with the Rams and the New York Jets for six years before that, is Mark Richt’s new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Georgia. Schottenheimer returns to the SEC. He played at Florida under Steve Spurrier from ’94-’96. He was backup to Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel during the Gators’ 1996 National Championship season. This is his first taste of coaching in the conference.
The jury was still out on Schottenheimer in terms of the job he did with the Rams. The one concession is that he called offensive plays with the absence of starting quarterback Sam Bradford for over half the games.
The Rams finished 28th of 30 in the NFL in total offense, without Bradford, who missed the entire year after tearing an ACL injury during the preseason. The Rams were 30th in total offense in 2013, when Bradford tore his ACL in Week 7. They were 23rd in 2012, the only full season that Schottenheiemer had Bradford.

On January 23, 2012, Brian Schottenheimer was hired to be the new offensive coordinator, making him the third offensive coordinator that Sam Bradford has had in as many seasons.
