Missouri defensive coordinator Dave Steckel keeps his emotions in check…most of the time.  During his introductory press conference at Missouri State, he became emotional when talking about his current players that he coaches at Missouri.  This afternoon at Buffalo Wild Wings in Orlando, Steckel was asked a range of questions regarding the game plan and his final game with Mizzou.

He kept it completely together until the very end when he was asked if he had any final words in what could be his final public appearance as a coach of the Tigers.  The exchange was brief…but emotional. (Watch below)

It’s easy to see how coaches become attached to the players.  They see these kids come in as high school kids and leave as grown men.  Stec tried to joke when asked the biggest change he has seen in Shane Ray over three years.

“He has to shave now,” smirked Stec.  However, he talked more about their development as men and not just football players.
