The NAACP continues its “Journey for Justice” march after encountering counter-protesters and racist expression Wednesday on the route from Gerald through Rosebud. The marchers, 5 to 30 of them at a time, kept silent as they completed another leg of the route from Ferguson to Jefferson City.
Counter protesters carrying signs blocked the NAACP bus for 10 minutes as it tried to pass through Rosebud. Local law enforcement allowed the incident, which was peaceful.
Cornell William Brooks, NAACP president and CEO, says they are responding to the fatal shooting of Ferguson teen Michael Brown by asking state lawmakers to change police practice and create legislation to improve racial tension. All of this is in the video below:
