Cardinals General Manager John Mozeliak made the first public comments from the club following the death of 22 year old outfielder Oscar Taveras who died Sunday in a car wreck in his native Dominican Republic. Taveras’ girlfriend also died in the crash. Mozeliak spoke to the media on a conference call revealing his initial shock and disbelief. He also talked about how manager Mike Matheny has reached out to players and Mozeliak shares more on the type of person and player Taveras was.
