If  you’re looking for a way to get your hands on some Game One World Series tickets for next Tuesday, you better be ready to pony up.  According to Yahoo.com, ticket prices are shooting north of $1,000 per ticket and for as much as $600 for standing room only.  If you’re hoping prices will come down a few hundred bucks as it gets closer to the game, you’ll be disappointed.

Jeff Goodman, the president of Kansas City-based Goody Tickets, told Yahoo, “No way,” on whether tickets could come down to the $300 or $400 range.

Tickets for the first game of the Series have never been this high.  The record on the resale market was an average of just under $900 back in 2010 for the San Francisco Giants.  To illustrate how crazy the prices have gotten for Kauffman Stadium, last year’s World Series clinching game 6 in Boston drew prices of $1,500.  As of right now, the average price for a Game Seven in KC is starting at $1,200.
