San Francisco Giants left Madison Bumgarner set a major league postseason record by pitching  26.2 consecutive scoreless innings on the road.  He went 7.2 on Saturday night against the Cardinals giving up four hits and a walk while striking out seven in their 3-0 win over Adam Wainwright.

Wainwright does not look like the same pitcher that went 5-0 in September and was the National League pitcher of the month.  In the postseason, Wainwright’s given up eight earned runs in nine innings. Dating back to last season, he’s 0-4 with a 5.14 ERA in his last five postseason appearances.

He made it just 4.2 innings against the Giants after going just 4.1 innings against vs. the Dodgers.

Pablo Sandoval doubled to start the second inning after right fielder Randal Grichuk had the ball but couldn’t hang on as he ran into the wall. Travis Ishikawa hit an RBI single on a bloop just over Carpenter’s head in shallow left.  Carpenter then botched up a ground allowing Sandoval to score.

Kolten Wong misplayed a double-play ball at second base in the third inning, and Brandon Belt’s sacrifice fly made it 3-0.
