4th Quarter Recap
The Tigers answered the Indiana scored with a 71 yard drive capped by a one yard pass from Maty Mauk to tight end Sean Culkin. The score was set up thanks to a 19-yard pass from Mauk to Bud Sasser. Mauk had three defenders closing in and he threw off his back foot. Sasser made a great play to come back on the ball, giving the Tigers a first down at the 11.
Mizzou put together what looked like it could be the game winning drive late when Andrew Baggett kicked a 40 yard field goal with 2:20 to play. Â That put the Tigers up 27-24 and gave them just their second lead of the game.
Indiana didn’t quit. Â Nate Sudfeld was saved on a third down pass when pass interference was called. Â The Hoosiers were just 1 of 14 on third down conversions, but that penalty kept their drive alive. Â Sudfeld then hit running Tevin Coleman for a 44 yard pass and with a facemask penalty, it gave IU the ball at the Mizzou seven. Â Two plays later, D’Angelo Roberts scored the game winner from three yards out.
The Tigers gained 498 yards of offense, but also committed ten penalties including five false starts.
