How they voted – House votes to override veto on 72-hour waiting period for abortions

September 10, 2014 By Mike Lear

The state House has voted 117-44 to overturn Governor Jay Nixon’s veto of legislation to triple the time a woman must wait before having an abortion from 24 to 72 hours.

The measure now goes to the Senate, who would also have to vote for an override in order for the bill to become law.
