Toledo QB Phillip Ely was picked off by Aarion Penton after feeling pressure from Markus Golden. Penton took it down to the Toledo 25 and the Tigers punched it in on a one yard run from Mauk after he hit Bud Sasser for 24 yards with a pass down to the one.

With the Tigers up 21-7, Toledo drove down inside the Mizzou ten, but on a third down, Ely was dropped by Golden on a sack back to the 28. Toledo then had their field goal attempted blocked.

For the third time, Mizzou started on Toledo’s side of the field and Mauk hit Murphy and Hunt on back to back passes for another score to put the Tigers up 28-7 with just over six minutes to play in the first half. Murphy’s completion was 26 yards, and Hunt’s TD was a 14 yarder.
