After another Tiger drive stalled, Baggett attempted a 55-yarder and was short and wide to the right, giving SD State the ball at their own 37 with 10:53 to play.
A running into the kicker penalty kept a South Dakota State drive alive as the Jackrabbits drove down to the Mizzou 22. Justin Syrovatka hit a 39 yard field goal to make it a 21-10 Mizzou lead with 3:58 to play in the first half. The field goal capped an 11-play, 41 yard drive.
Up to this point, South Dakota State winning the special teams matchup.
Mizzou’s next possession stalled on questionable playing, lining up five receivers and an empty backfield on a 3rd and 2. Mauk forced to scramble and throw out of bounds bring up a punt and give the Jackrabbits the ball at their 31 with 2:19 to play.
A three and out, gave Mizzou the ball with 1:25 to play at their own 30, but the drive stalled and the clock ran out with the Tigers holding an 11-point lead at the half.
Mizzou is outgaining South Dakota State 256-145, with the Tigers getting outrushed 117-112. Â Zach Zenner has 99 yards for the Jackrabbits.
