The Missouri Tigers, 12-2 last season and SEC East Division Champions, are ranked 24th in the first A.P. football poll of the 2014 season.

Before you start thinking that Mizzou is getting some respect among the college football media member who vote, consider this:  The Tigers dropped 19 spots from the end of last year’s rankings to this season.  The most of any team ranked in the Top 25.

Georgia, ranked 12th, made the biggest leap moving up 14 spots

Jameis Winston and defending national champion Florida State are No. 1 picking up 57 of 60 first-place votes. No. 2 Alabama, No. 3 Oregon and No. 4 Oklahoma each received one first-place vote. Ohio State is No. 5 and Auburn is No. 6.
