Cardinals closer Trevor Rosenthal has given up runs in three straight appearances.  He allowed the tying run in the ninth inning on Monday night against the Reds, but three straight singles in the bottom of the tenth pushed St. Louis to a 6-5 win over the Cincinnati Reds.

In his last three outings Rosenthal has gone 2.1 innings and allowed four runs on four hits and six walks.  Ten of the last 16 batters he’s faced have reached base safely.

Jay Bruce doubled home Billy Hamilton to tie the game.  Bruce also homered and drove in four runs for the Reds, which gives him nine RBIs in four games.

In the bottom of the tenth, Logan Ondrusek came in with one out and gave up consecutive singles to Matt Holliday, Matt Adams and Peralta. Peralta had three hits. He also doubled and scored the tying run on A.J. Pierzynski’s hit in the eighth.

Justin Masterson allowed one hit through his first four innings, but his night ended in the fifth.  Bruce’s three-run homer capped a four-run fifth against Masterson for a 4-3 lead.
