Henry Josey catches a pass during a recent practice at Eagles camp.

Former Mizzou running back Henry Josey left college early in hopes of making it in the NFL.  Undrafted, Josey signed a free agent contract with the Philadelphia Eagles.  On Friday night, Josey had the opportunity to see some extended playing time and he took advantage of it against the New England Patriots.|

Josey carried the ball eight times for 56 yards and caught a pass out of the backfield and took it 27 yards for a touchdown.  Josey’s TD came at the end of the third quarter to pull Philly to within 42-35, the final score.

The Eagles have LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles as their one-two combo in the backfield, but Josey is fighting with four others for a backup role.  The first roster cuts come next Tuesday afternoon, when the roster goes from 90 to 75.  The final roster is set to 53 on August 30.
