Marcus Murphy, Mizzou’s leader in all-purpose yards last season, lands on Hornung Award watch list

Missouri senior tailback Marcus Murphy, of DeSoto, TX., has been named to the 2014 Paul Hornung Award Watch List..

Murphy was an All-SEC Second Team selection by league coaches last season, picked up a Mizzou best 1,425 all-purpose yards. He had 10 total touchdowns, with nine coming on the ground. With 3,191 career all-purpose yards entering his final season, Murphy ranks eighth all-time in school history in that category.

The Hornung Award, now in its fifth season, is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football by the Louisville Sports Commission and football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung, the Golden Boy.
