The Southeastern Conference and Commissioner Mike Slive announced on Tuesday that the league’s directors of athletics have unanimously approved the City of St. Louis and the Scottrade Center as the host site of the 2018 SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament.

That announcement was made tonight at the league’s annual spring meetings in Destin, Fla.

Below are comments from Mizzou Director of Athletics Mike Alden and Head Basketball Coach Kim Anderson:

Mike Alden, Mizzou Director of Athletics
“I would like to thank Commissioner (Mike) Slive, his staff at the Southeastern Conference and my league counterparts for unanimously approving St. Louis’ proposal to host the 2018 Southeastern Conference Tournament for men’s basketball,” Alden said. “I would also like to congratulate Frank (Viverito) and his team with the St. Louis Sports Commission for their efforts in bringing this premier college basketball tournament to our state. There were many worthy venues and cities competing for this championship, and I know our fans, our state and the city of St. Louis will help create a memorable experience for our student-athletes, coaches and fans traveling in for this great event. What an exciting day for our University and our state.”
