The Chicago White Sox hit five home runs in their first two wins at Kauffman Stadium, and Royals starter Jeremy Guthrie came into Wednesday’s game allowing an American League high 12 homers.  It didn’t matter.  Guthrie went seven innings, allowing one run on three hits and two walks as the Royals won 3-1.

Guthrie got a no-decision, leaving in a 1-1 game, but Wade Davis picked up the win pitching the eighth and Greg Holland closed it down in the ninth after the Royals took the lead in the eighth.

Nori Aoki scored on Billy Butler’s sacrifice fly. Aoki started the one-out rally with a bunt single on a two-strike count. He advanced to third on Alcides Escobar’s single. Eric Hosmer was walked intentionally to load the bases.  Danny Valencia then walked scoring Escobar.
